Dieses Bild gehört zu meiner Serie „Glücklich und dankbar im Moor unterwegs“.
Die Inspiration habe ich direkt im Moor gefunden. Bei einem Spaziergang habe ich die Szene fotografiert, weil mich besonders beeindruckt hat, wie die Birkenblätter im Licht wie ein Leuchtfeuer gestrahlt haben. Zwischen den dunklen Baumstämmen und den warmen, erdigen Farbtönen entstand dieses intensive, goldene Leuchten – genau dieser Kontrast hat mich zum Malen bewegt.
Die Spiegelung im Wasser spielt eine wichtige Rolle. Sie nimmt das Licht auf, verstärkt es und bringt gleichzeitig Ruhe in die Komposition. Formen lösen sich leicht auf, Farben werden weicher, und es entsteht eine stille, ausgewogene Stimmung.
Für mich steht dieses Motiv für einen besonderen Moment der Aufmerksamkeit. Im Moor unterwegs zu sein bedeutet, solche Lichtblicke wahrzunehmen – und genau daraus entsteht mein Gefühl von Glück und Dankbarkeit.

This picture is part of my series ‘Happy and grateful walking in the moor'.
I found the inspiration right there in the moor. I photographed the scene during a walk because I was particularly impressed by how the birch leaves shone like a beacon in the light. This intense, golden glow emerged between the dark tree trunks and the warm, earthy tones – it was precisely this contrast that inspired me to paint.
The reflection in the water plays an important role. It absorbs the light, intensifies it and at the same time brings calm to the composition. Forms dissolve slightly, colours become softer and a quiet, balanced mood is created.
For me, this motif represents a special moment of awareness. Being out in the moor means noticing such rays of light – and that is precisely what gives me a feeling of happiness and gratitude.
