I took this photo one afternoon during my stay in Blåvand. I had originally planned to go to the dunes to paint. However, due to the very changeable weather and the strong wind, I decided to paint right on the grounds of the vacation home instead.

That’s when I discovered this unique perspective among the trees. I was particularly fascinated by the sturdy, intertwined trunks and branches, the light-colored bark, and the bright green young leaves. The dense greenery in the background creates a calm, almost sheltered space, while the light-colored grass in the foreground reflects the afternoon light.

I painted this scene en plein air right on site. In retrospect, I found it enriching that the weather changed my original idea.
