Dieses Bild entstand während eines Plein-Air-Maltages im Hinterland von Houstrup an der dänischen Westküste. Ursprünglich wollte ich in den Dünen malen, doch starke Windböen warfen meine Staffelei mehrfach um. Schließlich fand ich an einem kleinen See einen geschützteren Platz, an dem ich dieses Bild malte.
Der helle Sandweg führt durch Heide und niedrige Vegetation auf den stillen See zu. Das wechselnde Licht, der weite Himmel und die vom Wind geprägte Landschaft bestimmen die Stimmung des Bildes. Es ist eine unmittelbare malerische Erinnerung an einen Tag, an dem die Natur den Malprozess maßgeblich beeinflusst hat.

This painting was created during a plein air painting day in the countryside near Houstrup on the Danish west coast. I had originally planned to paint in the dunes, but strong gusts of wind knocked my easel over several times. Eventually, I found a more sheltered spot by a small lake, where I painted this piece.
The light-colored sandy path leads through heathland and low vegetation toward the tranquil lake. The changing light, the vast sky, and the wind-swept landscape set the mood of the painting. It is a vivid, painterly memory of a day when nature had a significant influence on the painting process.
